Abstract
This study investigates how non-native listeners interpret prosodically marked focus in speech processed by a cochlear implant (CI) simulation. Prosody plays a crucial role in speech perception, but CI users face challenges in perceiving prosodic cues. For non-native listeners, this presents an additional challenge as they already process prosodic information differently than native listeners.
